Welcome to Asakusa. This is one of the easiest places for a first-time visitor to feel older Tokyo: Sensō-ji, shopping streets, food stalls, side lanes, and the movement of worshippers and travelers together. Before entering temple spaces, slow down. Do not block people praying, be thoughtful with photos, and follow posted signs. Look for the contrast between the formal approach and the everyday neighborhood around it. Asakusa pairs naturally with Ueno or a river route, and it works best when you give yourself time to wander rather than treating it as a quick transit stop.
